Information on Montessori pre schools that will lay the foundation for your future educational aspects.

Montessori pre schools

Montessori pre-schools are based on the principles of Maria Montessori, the first female physician from Italy who revolutionized the education system in the world. Her observation of children led her to realize that children are self taught. A baby learns to walk and talk without any help and similarly as they grow they learn to read and write by themselves.

Montessori pre-schools are located world wide and it is a system that has become accepted for its uniqueness in the teaching method itself and due to the positive results it has borne. Maria Montessori emphasized that the most important period of life is from birth to age six and not the time the child is in university. It is the period where the child gets a good grounding which will make the rest of their studies much easier. The formative years are when a person’s intelligence is formed. She believed that every child is born with a certain amount of intelligence and their performance in latter years will be in most cases dependant on how well they have been grounded at the beginning. We all know that it is difficult to inculcate methods and discipline to an adult who has already grown in his own ways, but a child is able to be trained to be what you want and this concept is similar even in education.

Another reason for the success of the Montessori concept is that the child works in a home atmosphere and not a classroom. Thus children do not feel rigidity but perhaps feels they are in a home away from home. It is somewhat a continuation from their home itself. They choose their work from the material available around them. They are easily accessible as they are placed in open shelves at the height of a child. As the children get engrossed in their work, they are allowed to go on without any interruption in order to build their concentration. Montessori pre-school is not confined to a particular time frame for a given exercise and therefore the child is able to spend all the time the child wants on a particular exercise until they master the exercise itself. The Teacher is available for guidance and when the child has mastered the particular exercise by continuously working with the material, the child will then be presented with another. The child is given the option of choosing the material the child wishes to use and they are not forced to do anything. As children work in their own pace they will not feel threatened. This is especially beneficial for a slower child as he/she will not feel left out or feel inferior, as he/she will not be competing with others who are smarter than themselves. In fact, they will only compete with themselves. As the child repeats the exercise the child will become disciplined, orderly and focused. As in every case, the time frame to reach this perfection may be short for some and long for the others. The child will grow with a love for learning which will give them the knowledge and skills needed to accomplish what education offers in latter years, as they are prepared for university with confidence.

Thus the Montessori education started in the pre-school will lay the foundation for your future educational aspects.
