Advice on how to study smart not hard to improve your results in exam.

Study smart not hard

Most of the students think of studying as a boring and hard task. And you may also have seen students who study really hard for an exam but still get lower marks than other students who didn’t seem to be putting that much of effort at all. So what is the reason behind this?

In my opinion, this is mainly due to the methods that the students use to study. Most of them seem to be thinking that studying hard is the key to success in exams. However, this statement isn’t exactly accurate. Yes, students have to put in some effort but what is important above all is Smart Studying. If you are a smart student, then obviously you know what I am speaking about. However, if you don’t, then the following section would be able to give you all the information that you need.

Plan the studies
Smart students never go ahead reading a book without having a proper plan. Unlike normal students, they always try to plan ahead. So, once they have started reading a book or notes given at the lecture, they have a small plan in the back of their mind which prepares them for various factors. Now you may wonder as to what these various factors are? Well, this can be many things.

Maximum time – this is the maximum time that they can study without compromising on the rate at which they can absorb.

Where to stop and what to do – this includes plans on what should be done once they have faced difficulties. So they make sure that they never skip a hard area.

Where to refer – Studying time should not be wasted. Therefore, smart students always gather all the required material before they attempt a specific area of studies.

Manage the time available for studies
A smart student will never rush through the notes and study really hard before an exam. This is due to proper time management. When you get to know the exam dates, the first thing that you need to do is to identify the time that is still available for your studies.

Once this has been identified, divide the time available among the subjects that you have to study. Also allow a longer time for the area that you find difficult. Then prepare a time table which includes all the targets and goals for each day or week. If you follow this method, you will not run out of time before the exam and you will not want to study really hard without any relaxation.

Proper revision
When an exam is near by, you should stop studying throughout the whole day. Limit this for several hours and do a revision on the areas that you have completed studying. The truth is, when an exam is near by, the amount that your brain can absorb will somewhat be lower than the other days. This is mainly due to the mental pressure. Therefore, devoting this time for revision will give you confidence about the knowledge that you possess. Further, you will also be able to identify the areas where you need to concentrate on. All of this combined together will get you better results.

With the given information it should be clear for you that Studying Smart would obviously give you better results than Studying Hard. Hope you enjoyed reading the article.
