Information on why home schooling works to get admission in home schooling.

Why home schooling works

1) The most obvious reason for parents to choose to home school their child is because of the changing culture and environment in public schools. Parents fear for their children’s safety and what they are exposed to at public schools. This has motivated parents to teach their children at home, either with a set curriculum or self learning; whatever learning style is best suited for the parent and the child.

2) Home schooled children don’t have to compete for attention or recognition from their teachers. Parents as teachers can give their child all the attention and encouragement they need to develop their skills. Slow learners don’t have to worry about keeping up with the rest of the class.

3) The family environment of home schooling is another reason why home schooling works. For a young child it’s the best environment to learn and grow, with his or her own family around and with a sense of security and belonging. Children who attend public school have to be literally carried or coaxed into attending school everyday; they don’t want to leave home. Home schooling parents don’t have to deal with a tearful toddler or make attending school difficult and stressful.

4) There is less peer pressure and influence. Parents are aware of the danger of peer pressure in the public school setting. Children who are home schooled do not have to suffer or deal with the effects of peer pressure and parent don’t have to worry about what their child is getting involved with.

5) Learning does not have to be all work and no play. Home schooling is fun for both the parents and the children. There is no set curriculum or rules and regulations like a public school. In a home school setting children can learn whatever they want, whenever they want. Learning can be in the form of board games or computer games.

6) The flexibility to learn anywhere is a reality with home schooling. Parents can choose to teach their children in the backyard, the park or even in a local coffee shop. Teaching is not limited to the class room. Children can satisfy their natural curiosity and learn new things and not limit themselves to a class room even on a lovely spring afternoon.

7) Home schooling children’s personalities and characters are always positive, mature and responsible. Home schooled children have more opportunities to develop their natural personalities than copy or imitate peers and adopt a less positive personality to just fit in with the rest.

8) For children who have physical disabilities and mental disabilities, home school is the preferred choice. The home schooling option is indeed a consolation to such parents, they don’t need to think about which school would accept their child. The home schooling system works well for these parents.

9) Children don’t need to be away from their families and homes to get a good sound education. Parents don’t need to send their children to far off boarding schools to give their children the basic education. Parents living in the country or rural areas can educate their children by home schooling.

10) There are a variety of resources for home schooling at affordable prices which really makes the home schooling option an accomplishable feat, for many parents who think home schooling is expensive and resources are hard to find. There are home schooling support groups that parents can be a part of and can swap and share resources for home schooling.
