Late Coming Brother

"Is it James?" "Oh, yes it is," "James you have come home, too very early, is this the time to come home? Answer me, why do you keep mum?" shouted I, on finding my brother, James coming back late, as has been his habit for the past few months. "Shut up! you bloody creature, it is none of your business," saying this James went to his room and banged the door, adding that he didn't want anything to eat. Thus, ended another of our quarrel, to be precise, heated arguments, and I sinhed heavily, as I entered my bedroom. I don't know why I could'n't get any sleep that night.

Next morning, i woke up, but, with dropping eyes. Nevertheless, I had made up my mind. that night, when James returned, I sat patiently without uttering a word. When on feeling uncomfortable of the silence he came to me, I still kept quiet. On further coaxing I started speaking.

I told, how I had once suffered, at the hands of my friends, who betrayed me once they came to know, that I had lost my father. I also told him of the time, when my friends had used me for their conveniences. my brother, on hearing this burst into tears and saying nothing went to his room.

Next day, when I came back as usual at six, and went inside, I found my brother sitting and studying for his forthcoming examination. Thus ended the truancy of my brother, James.
