Galieli Galileo - Who wonderstruck people from the Leaning Tower of Pisa

Galileo, even after 358 years of his death, is still considered as one of the greatest scientists of the world. He was the first man who disproved many old notions by his experiments. This italian scientist, from his childhood took a keen interest in studying the ways of nature and science.

Galileo, made an instrument based on the beat of the human pulse which was known as pulse-meter. Later his son Vinsenji made the wall-clock on this basis. This has developed into today's pendulum clock.

Before Galilio, Aristotle has made a statement that, if two bodies fall simultaneously from the same height, the heavier body will hit the ground first. Galilio was the first to disprove this.

For this, he went up to the seventh floor of the Pisa Tower with two metal balls weighing 100 pounds and one pound respectively. Galilio dropped both the balls simultaneously. The people were wonderstruck when the two balls hit the ground at the same time. In this way the many years old superstition was proved wrong scientifically.

Galilio also fabricated the first telescope. Many people went up to the top of the Vanice Church and saw the ships nearly 10 times nearer with the help of this telescope.

Galilio established the validity of views of Coppernicus, who thought that sun, and not the earth, is the center of the universe. He aid that the earth revolves round the sun.

As Galileo expressed his views freely. Church offcials were against his views and summoned him before the court as it was an offence in the opinion of church authorities. However, they were willing to pardon him if accepted that his statements were wrong. He walked towards the ground and said it was the earth which moves around the sun. For this "offence" he was put in prison where he became blind and died in 1642.
